PUBLIC NOTICE
The U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) is considering a request for Federal assistance from Missouri University of Science and Technology to construct a Test Bed Facility in Rolla, Phelps, MO. Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969 and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966, as amended, EDA is conducting an assessment of the proposed project to affect the environment and/or historic properties.
The proposed facility will serve as a test bed for new mining technologies and innovation processes addressing the critical challenges facing domestic critical mineral production, providing pilot-scale infrastructure to bridge lab-scale innovation and commercial deployment. The building will be constructed as a standalone facility. The proposed 18,700-sf building will consist of a 12,000-sf Mineral Processing High Bay; a 4,750-sf Entry-Office-Laboratory Area; and a 1,950-sf Observation and Supply Storage Mezzanine. The project will be located at 12400 Private Drive 7002, Rolla, MO.
